Dishwasher joy

I know that material possessions are not meant to make you happy, but in all seriousness how is it possible that a dishwasher cannot create happiness?

I am particularly thankful for my dishwasher today because I have just stacked my third load for the day.  We had people for lunch and it is so luxurious to just put it all through the dishwasher.

Every night when I am tired and totally over the day, I take great pleasure in seeing how much I can load up the dishwasher.  It is a machine that creates daily joy.

Just thought you should all know this!

I think we should also find joy in the washing machine. Can you imagine life without one? Unthinkable!

I think I would marry my dishwasher. If I could.

I am with Simone. Everytime I wash and hang out clothes with a grumpy attitude, I think of the women who spent many hours using their old wringers etc. Then I also start to think of the women who gave birth without drugs or midwives or nice hospital rooms etc etc during Australia's early days of white settlement. I am so in awe of those women who went before us.
We have never had a dishwasher. Sometimes I think it would be nice, but to be honest I would hate to lose precious cupboard space to have one. Many good conversations have been had around our kitchen sink! I'm glad yours makes you happy, Jenny.

BTD (before the dishwasher) Andrew and I would rarely argue except for who's turn it was to do the dishes!! Sometimes they would stack up until we had no dishes left. Sometimes we'd just buy more crockery and cutlery so neither of us had to do it. ATD (after the dishwasher) we always thank God for the moment it came into our lives! :) The first one was $15 from a garage sale and I installed it myself!!

And you will probably find that your dishwasher actually uses less water than a sink washup - my cousins one does anyway :)

I LOVE my dishwasher. Husband laughed at me for kissing and hugging it in the shop the day we went to buy it...
