Worried

I'm worried tonight for my brother-in-law tonight who is very unwell in hospital. He's been quite sick since the weekend. It's not as bad as initially thought, but we're still not clear about what's going on. My sister lives in Adelaide and it is hard when these types of things happen to be so far away. I can't just get her to drop her kids over (all six of them - yes, I know it's a bit strange that we both have large families) so we can look after them. And I've got my own family to look after too. Tricky. I'd love to fly down and help, but we're so uncertain of his diagnosis that we don't know how it will all pan out. They can't even think clearly to know what help would be best.

Just sharing my worry with you my blog friends. Hope it's not too deep ...

Hi Jenny, praying for wisdom for those people caring for your brotherinlaw. Be sure that Holy Trinity will have all their congregational doctors (of which there are many) searching for the answers. Distance from your sister during this time is so hard but good to know that she is surrounded by a very supportive community.

Thanks Julie. They've all been great at Trinity - he's been so well looked after, as have their family.

Please don't worry Jen.

We don't know what we need but God does, and he's providing perfectly. Thanks for asking people to pray - that's the best thing by far :)

My sister suffered from similar feelings during the illnesses of both our parents as she lives in Perth. Even though I was at the coal face I still felt supported by her as she would ring regularly, and it was great to have someone who was a little more objective to debrief to.
You can only do what you can do, the most important thing is that they know you love and care for them.
Am praying for you and them. Is great your mum can go down - I really miss my mum when things are tough.
